Dear parents and carers,
Firstly, I would like to thank you all for your continued support and patience during these difficult times. As Sheffield has been placed at tier 2 level due to the high number of Covid cases, I suggest that you wear a face mask when arriving at the school gates and maintain a social distance from other families as much as possible.
I had hoped that the current situation would have changed by the October half term break and that we could think about returning to normal. Sadly, we are still in the middle of a pandemic and we need to remain vigilant. School will therefore continue to operate as we are, until the Christmas holidays.
This means sticking to the staggered start and finish times, keeping classes safe in their bubbles, having ‘grab bags’ for lunch and finishing slightly earlier on Fridays. Please continue to get in touch with staff via email enquiries@portercroft.sheffield.sch.uk or via phone calls on 2662132.
Staff news – We are pleased to inform our Y1 parents that we have appointed Miss Shaw to cover Mrs Thompson’s maternity leave. Miss Shaw has been able to start her employment with us today (Tuesday 13th October) and she will be with us until the end of the academic year.
We are trying to improve our communication with parents and would like to use email as a way of communication. In order for us to do this we would be grateful if you could complete the slip below and return it to school. We will of course still send paper copies out to parents who require them.
