Dear parents and carers,
Due to the Prime Minister’s announcement last night about entering into another lockdown, we are really disappointed and sad to be closing school for the majority of our pupils at the start of this new year. We will be open for children whose parents are key workers and those families who have been identified as being vulnerable. School will start at 9am and finish at 3.15pm for these pupils, except on Fridays when we shall close at 2pm. If you are unsure about whether your child can attend school, please phone the office and the staff will be able to answer any questions.
We will be setting home learning activities on our Purple Mash platform daily for pupils to complete. Attached is a crib sheet of instructions on how to log on to Purple Mash and how to upload work. If you need a reminder of your child’s login and password, please phone the office. Teachers will also be delivering a morning Zoom session to talk through the day’s activities with the children and the link for these sessions will be on your child’s Purple Mash class page. Below is a table of the times your child’s daily Zoom meeting will take place. These will start on Wednesday 6th January.
Y6 – 8.40-8.55am
Y5 – 9-9.15am
Y4 – 9.20-9.35
Y3 – 9.40-9.55
Y2 – 10-10.15am
Y1 – 10.20-10.35am
FS2 – 10.40-10.55
If you are unable to access Purple Mash at home, we can send your child a paper copy of the work that has been set each week. We already have a list of families who requested this during the last lockdown and we can add to this list if you let the office know you wish to receive a paper copy.
As we are updated about the situation we will remain in contact through emails, text, twitter, postal service and Purple Mash blogs. Please do phone school if you have any queries, we are here to support you all.
Stay safe.
Kind regards
Cath Thomas
