HEALTHY MINDS
At Porter Croft C of E Academy, we are part of the Healthy Minds Project in Sheffield. Healthy Minds is a school-based project aims to support the emotional health and wellbeing of children and young people. It puts emotional resilience at the heart of children’s health and wellbeing and recognises its impact on their learning, attainment, behaviour and future employability. By providing a stable, nurturing and protective environment, we can help children learn how to regulate their emotions and develop healthy relationships with other children and school staff. These abilities will have a huge impact on their emotional resilience and satisfaction with their lives.
WHAT WE DO TO SUPPORT HEALTHY MINDS?
As a school we have been given techniques to support everyone both teachers and students to be able to identify how they are feeling and techniques to improve our moods.
Each class, from Y2 to Y6, have two healthy Mind Champions. These children have worked with an Educational Psychologist to develop techniques to help regulate ourselves when we are feeling lackluster or calm down when we are feeling over stimulated.

ZONES OF REGULATION
As a whole school we have introduced Zones of regulation which complements the work we have been doing as a Healthy Mind School. Please see our Zones of Regulation area on the website.
